Cochrane Neuromuscular

MRC Centre for Neuromuscular Diseases, Queen SquareBackground

Cochrane Neuromuscular was registered with Cochrane in March 1998 with its editorial base in King’s College London. In September 2008 the editorial base moved to offices in the MRC Centre for Neuromuscular Diseases, Queen Square, London within the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery,  University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

We aim to provide systematic reviews of all interventions for all neuromuscular diseases, including amyotrophic lateral sclerosis/motor neuron disease, peripheral nerve disorders, myasthenia gravis and neuromuscular function disorders, and muscle diseases. Since 2008 the Group has begun to prepare systematic reviews of diagnostic test accuracy.

Cochrane Neuromuscular is part of Cochrane, an independent not-for-profit international collaboration dedicated to providing up-to-date, accurate information about the effects of health care.

The National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) is the largest single funder of this Cochrane Review Group. The group receives additional support from the MRC Centre for Neuromuscular Diseases and the MND Association (UK).

The Group membership has risen to over 900 researchers, healthcare professionals and consumers from around the world. Anyone interested in contributing to the work of the Group is invited to contact the Managing Editor at
