Cochrane Neuromuscular

MRC Centre for Neuromuscular Diseases, Queen Square

Background

Cochrane Neuromuscular was registered as a Cochrane Review Group in March 1998. Since September 2008 the group has been based in the Queen Square Centre for Neuromuscular Diseases within the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

We aim to provide systematic reviews of interventions for all neuromuscular diseases, including amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (which is also known as motor neuron disease), peripheral nerve disorders, myasthenia gravis and neuromuscular function disorders, and muscle diseases. We also have a small number of diagnostic test accuracy reviews in progress.

Cochrane Neuromuscular is part of Cochrane, an independent not-for-profit international collaboration dedicated to providing up-to-date, accurate information about the effects of health care.

The National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) is the largest single funder of this Cochrane Review Group. The group receives additional support from the Queen Square Centre for Neuromuscular Diseases and the MND Association (UK).

Our membership has risen to over 900 researchers, healthcare professionals and consumers from around the world. Anyone interested in contributing to the work of the Group is invited to contact the Managing Editor at cochranenmd@ion.ucl.ac.uk
